xing-logoXing, the European answer to LinkedIn, is trying a new angle on its game: according to German press, the social network is trying out an newsletter that aggregates industry news that’s relevant to the user. Tripbirds-logoTripbirds, the social travel startup based in Stockholm, today unveiled a significant shift in direction for its product/website. The focuse is no longer on collecting and sharing travel experiences of all kinds. Instead, the site now aims directly at hotel booking, though it retains some social elements. The_SamwersGlobal telecom giant Millicom International Cellular (Tigo), today announced that it has received all necessary documentation to close a huge deal with Rocket Internet. The Samwer brothers’ clone factory operates two subsidiaries in Latin America and Africa, aptly named Latin America Internet Holdings (LIH) and Africa Internet Holdings (AIH), respectively. 4 more info visit TNW.

toggl-logoToggl, the cloud-based time management tool, told our colleagues at ArcticStartup.com that it recently hit the milestone of 300,000 registered users. The time tracking tool enables small groups and freelancers to jot down their hours for client projects, and be able to say what they were working on at the time. Toggl is based in Tallinn, Estonia, and currently has 12 employees.

abu_falkner-SamwersPortfolio shake-up: After Rocket Internet‘s business in Turkey recently came to a sudden halt, it looks like Dubai is next, with the Samwers’ Amazon clone in Dubai, Mizado, to be brought under Namshi, previously a regional brand for Rocket’s fashion store Zalando.
